On October 12 at 11AM, a 23 year old male construction worker, fell four stories from the roof of a new building at 700 S FER Blvd. The victim was working on the roof and was impaled on a piece of reinforcing bar that was protruding from the ground. The Harrison Fire Department, assisted by the Kearny Fire Department cut the man free by cutting the bar. He was transported to University Hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to recover. The incident remains under investigation by OSHA.
